12/18/2023 0 Comments What does pronoun mean![]() ![]() (I didn't want anything more with this person than a friendship before I watched them behave exactly like a psychopath) Horrid. A nonbinary person's experience isn't like a binary gendered person's isn't even like another nonbinary gendered person's, etc.Īctually, it seemed to me someone there was using 'they' to imply we were the same person as some kind of manipulation tactic to make it seem like the person couldn't possibly rape me and our desires were the same. I used to use they in nonbinary spaces, but people liked to make a joke about it literally referring to multiple people, which made me feel like some of the people there were binary-gendered sexual predators using the pronoun as a mask and making a joke of it is pretty shitty, considering the ptsd and everything.so I lean away from they now, I think we are all connected and unified in some way, but we do have separate objective experiences. It would be my preferred pronoun, but I'm leaning towards ze since 'it' is confusing, potentially offensive, and easily misinterpreted (also I wouldn't want people to make objectification jokes.enough nonfunny jokes trauma in my life already). But I've also encountered nonbinary people who use it, and I personally don't find it insulting or objectifying to me or the person. ![]() Some may consider it to be feminine, but I think it makes more sense if 'spirit' is actually neuter, conceptually speaking. I've heard 'it' used to refer to spirits, monsters, other such entities, even the holy spirit or great spirit whatever you want to call it. Just think of Stephen King's child-eating clown. It can also refer to a concept or experience, such as emotions like happiness, fear, sadness, or states like depression.I could go on. 'It' doesn't necessarily refer to an object, even in usage you are probably more familiar with. ![]()
